I get this question often. ???? I’m going to sell my home, what should I do about my pets?
So you’re about to list your home. But you have family pets that living in the house. What should we do for preparation?
I want to share with you just 2 things that is going to make a huge difference…
Remember, we are marketing the home to buyers and they want to know if the home is in good condition and of course want that feeling of new home that they can instantly see themselves living in.
1. Declutter – Remove all pet toys, crates, screens or barriers from the home. Do not leave pet bowls or food containers out in the open.
You want to be sure that the buyers are not focused on anything other than the home itself. Besides, anything that buyers may trip over could be a liability problem waiting to happen.
2. Pet odors – This is a much big deal than you think, so don’t underestimate this point. Buyers are unconsciously being influenced by their emotions about the home, those emotions come from their senses. We often forget how much our sense of smell is driving our decision making.
So make this one a priority. Just as selling your car. Wouldn’t you want to get it cleaned and shampooed before showing to buyers to get top dollar?
Hey I understand, if you’re busy, and don’t have time you may want to get professional help to get your home looking and smelling perfect to attract buyers. Get recommendations from an experienced Realtor who is well connected to vendors who can help you make your home perfect for the next showing!
